Privacy Policy

Attune is a local, offline-first music player. Your music files stay on your device and are never uploaded to any server. Privacy is not a feature we bolted on, it is how the app is built.

Data we collect

Attune runs no server of its own and collects no personal data on our side. Everything below stays on your device, unless you explicitly turn on the optional Google Drive backup described further down. Specifically:

• Music files: scanned and played locally on your device only.
• Playlists and favorites: stored locally on your device only.
• Settings and preferences: stored locally on your device only.

Optional cloud backup (Google Drive)

Attune can optionally back up your library data so you can move it to a new device. This is off by default and only happens if you choose to sign in with Google and enable it.

• What is backed up: only your playlists, favorites, tuning preferences, listening stats and app settings. Your music files are never uploaded.
• Where it is stored: in the hidden app-data folder of your own Google Drive. The data goes directly from your device to your Drive. We never receive, see, or store it, and we run no server that holds it.
• Access scope: Attune uses only the restricted drive.appdata scope, which limits it to its own hidden folder. It cannot see or touch any other files in your Google Drive.
• Your control: you can turn the backup off at any time and delete it from your Google Drive whenever you like.

Third-party services

Attune uses the following third-party services:

• RevenueCat: manages in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes purchase data according to their Privacy Policy.
• Radio Browser API: provides the station catalog for the Radio feature. Station metadata is fetched from the public API (api.radio-browser.info).
• Google Sign-In and Google Drive: used only if you enable the optional cloud backup, to sign you in and store the backup in your own Drive. Handled under Google's Privacy Policy.

Permissions

• Storage access: required to scan and play music files on your device.
• Internet access: required for purchase verification and radio streaming.

Children's privacy

Attune does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Data retention

Your on-device data (your music library, playlists, favorites, listening stats, tuning preferences, and app settings) is kept on your device for as long as the app is installed. It is removed as soon as you uninstall the app or clear it from within the app. We never receive a copy of it, so there is nothing for us to retain. If you turn on the optional Google Drive backup, the backup lives in the hidden app-data folder of your own Google Drive account under your control. You can turn it off and delete it there at any time, and we never receive or retain a copy. We operate no servers that store your personal data, so there is no server-side data for us to retain.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
